Now in its 6th year the Newcastle Summer Season
Entertainment Programme, produced by Down Arts
Service, has become an established and much
enjoyed part of the busy tourist season in Newcastle.
This year’s programme is even bigger and better than ever, with
classic summer theatre from seasoned performers The Belvoir
Players, Holywood Players and Southbank Players; stand-up
comedy from Irish duo Brendan Burke and Brendan Dempsey;
Irish Theatre with John B Keane’s The Matchmaker; music from
The Illegals & Niamh Kavanagh, Elvis and Johnny Cash and for
families, Northern Irish Premieres of Treasure Island and folklore
puppet show, The Legend of Lowry Lynch.
As always the Summer Days programme on the Prom offers a
fantastic selection of FREE children’s entertainment on Saturday
afternoons and bands performances on Sunday afternoons, as
well as a wide variety of events taking place during the week.
It’s going to be a great Summer Season, we hope to see you there. |
